This EP celebrates 25 years of the CAUDA PAVONIS sound, spirit and
style with 4 new tracks written in that ever familiar dark, gothic, folkloric
style; for which the band has become famous.

‘Salt on the Midnight Fire’ ignites the imagination and is inspired by ‘The Fallow Sisters’ series of the fantasy author Liz Williams, a close friend of the band. ‘The Fates’ explores the Moirai or The Fates as they are known (Clotho, Atropos and Lachesis) and their influence on the mortal world. ‘Goddesses’’ is a celebration of the divine nature and inner strength in us all. The EP finishes with the title track, ‘The Devil, The Reaper and The Highwayman’. A dark journey through English myths and folklore traditions exploring an unholy triumvirate of the three antagonists. Sleeve artwork was created by artist Jason Heeley.

The EP was exclusively launched as a download on the CAUDA PAVONIS BandCamp site as part of their headline appearance at The Fantasy Forest Festival in the UK on July 15th 2023, with all other download sites getting the release a month later on, Su’s birthday, 8th August 2023.

The EP is available as a download or as part of a Limited Edition 25th Anniversary Collector’s Box containing download codes for 44 tracks from the bands history namely all the tracks from 'Sigil', 'Wars & Masquerades', 'Peace Through Superior Firepower', 'Aces & Eights' and 'The Devil, The Reaper and The Highwayman' on special 25th anniversary cards replicating the original sleeves, a hand crafted Cauda Pavonis Keyring, 25th Anniversary Badge, Cauda Pavonis sticker and PR card.
